Got a hankering for some celebrity poker action? How about meeting rock legend Gene Simmons of KISS and raising some money for a good cause while you're at it? Then mark the second weekend in November on your calendar, because the Los Angeles Police Memorial Foundation's HEROES for HEROES will tick all of your boxes.
Play poker with Gene Simmons, win a 2019 PCA seat, raise money for a great cause -- it's a rare win/win/win situation
This year's HEROES for HEROES celebrity poker tournament honoring Gene Simmons will be held at AVALON Hollywood on Saturday, November 10, from 3pm-9pm PST. There are some big prizes up for grabs -- play and you could win a seat at the 2019 PokerStars Caribbean Adventure, a VIP trip to the Palms Resort & Casino Las Vegas with a one-on-one poker lesson with Team PokerStars Pro Daniel Negreanu, or even a chance to watch MMA legend Tito Ortiz train for Liddell/Ortiz 3 and then take in the fight.
The HEROES for HEROES event has been running for a while now and it's always a good time for everyone involved. For starters, you know you're helping a great cause -- the LAPMF supports widows and orphans of Los Angeles police officers killed in the line of duty, covering education and medical costs for those who may not have other means for these necessities.
Then there's the whole celebrity side of the event. Being held in L.A. means this tournament turns out some of the biggest names in TV, film, music, and sports -- some past attendees include Mark Wahlberg, Rihanna, Wayne Gretzky, Samuel L. Jackson, Elton John, Oscar de la Hoya, Ray Romano, Sugar Ray Leonard, and Jack Nicholson, just to name a few. And of course the guest of honor this time is the 'God Of Thunder' himself, Rock & Roll Hall of Famer Gene Simmons.
Check the event page for full information on tickets, or purchase them directly by calling (213) 847-4240.
